Your first appointment will generally take about one hour. One of our therapists will conduct an initial assessment of your condition and medical history and will recommend the most appropriate treatment plan. In most cases, your initial visit will also include your first treatment.
You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that will allow exposure of the affected area. * Please make sure you arrive at least 5 minutes early for your first visit to allow sufficient time to fill in paperwork and to set up your file.
Customer parking is as indicated in designated spots in the parking lot at the rear of the building. There is also limited parking on the street.
When you first arrive one of our office staff will have you complete our information sheet. This will give us some helpful information about your medical condition to enable the physiotherapist to make a well informed evaluation. You will then be shown to a room where your therapist will review your medical history and particulars about your injury in order to do an assessment. She will follow this with treatment, exercises if applicable, and education regarding your injury. You will be instructed as to what type of activities are allowed during your recovery stage, what is expected of you between treatments. (i.e.; rest, exercise etc., and approximately how long you will need to come for treatment.)
We are a recognized provider with and Veterans Affairs and are able to direct bill to them on your behalf. If you are included in one of these categories, we can book you in for an initial assessment as soon as our next availability arises on a therapist’s schedule. For Veterans Affairs they require a doctors referral and your K number on file for us to call for approvals. Once you have come in for the initial appointment, we contact them on your behalf to get authorization for further treatment.
